Children’s Dance Theater is the proud home of the award-winning Thrive Competition Team! Started in 2014, our dance team is a space for artistry, competition, performance, and teamwork. Our goal is to provide a place for everyone to experience this unique and rewarding side of dance where each dancer will thrive!

Thrive Audition Information
Thrive dance team is excited for the upcoming 2026/27 season. Here is all the information you will need for a successful audition at Children's Dance Theater. To view dates and times, please locate your current level; click the registration button to secure your spot. The first day will be the technique audition; the registration fee will be $40, paid on the day of the auditions. The second day registration fee is $20 for each optional style, paid on the day of the audition. Please wear dance-appropriate clothing; the color choice of attire is the dancer's choice. Please bring all appropriate shoes for the auditions. Tech classes will be wearing ballet shoes; ballet attire is not required for tech class. No baggy pants or oversized clothing.

The Thrive auditions on June 23rd-25th are for dancers currently or planning to be in the conservatory for the 2026/27 season. All other programs please use the September interest form.

*Parents must attend the Mandatory Parent Meeting on June 3rd at the Auburn location to be eligible for placement on Thrive Dance Team.

*All Thrive dancers must be enrolled in the 26/27 seasons program by the audition date to be eligible. Ballet is mandatory for all Thrive dancers.

*All account payments must be up to date by the audition to be eligible.

​Are you interested in being considered for a Special (duo or trio)? Please attend the separate audition on June 25th at 7:00pm, there is no fee.​

Absentee Audition Form
Can't make it to auditions in person? We have you covered. Please fill out the absentee form below and submit video clips based on the styles you are wanting to compete. We are asking for 32 counts of movement for each style submitted. This can be improvised, a past dance, a class combo or even recital choreography. Please fill out the above Registration form as well as the Absentee form to be considered for Thrive Dance Team.
Interested in joining Thrive in September?
Are you interested in joining our team starting in September? We have a team that starts in September which has fewer commitments, three events, one dance, and rehearses in either Maple Valley or Federal Way. You get to choose the location! This team meets for one 45 minute rehearsal September through April. Please click below and fill out the intent to participate form and we will be in contact soon! Can't wait to Thrive with you!

Here at Children’s Dance Theater we promote a healthy approach physically and mentally to dance education and training with the hopes of instilling joy and self worth. Our competition team is fun and challenging for dancers who want to have multiple performance opportunities, and experience the camaraderie of working with a team! Our dance team thrives on inclusive and appropriate costumes, award winning choreography and a supportive booster club.
Thrive is open to all dancers who are enrolled at CDT. With two teams there is a place for everyone and every level.
About Thrive Dance Team
Thrive dance team is an exciting program offered to Children's Dance Theater registered students. Thrive has three levels of commitment for dancers. The first level is our low commitment/high fun opportunity. This level attends three competitions and our Unveiled showcase. Our second level and largest is the main competition team. This team attends four events, one of them is a convention and our Unveiled showcase. Our top level is for select dancers who have a focus on professional aspirations. These dancers compete with the second level but attend more events over the season with their solos. This level is by invitation only.
Competitions
Thrive has an average of four competitions each year with the options of a Nationals, travel or extra competitions, rotating each season. All rehearsals take place on Wednesday nights at the Auburn location. Competitions could start January and go until May. Thrive runs on a three year schedule, a travel year, a no travel year, and a nationals year.
