Tuition & Fees
Outlined below is tuition information for each program for the upcoming season. If you are registering multiple children or will need 4 or more costumes be sure to read our discount section at the bottom.
We are proud to work with families and do what we can to help our dance family while running a financially sound business.
General Policies:

Once classes have begun, all tuition is non-refundable.

CDT accepts Visa and Mastercard auto payments on either the 1st or the 15th of the month.

Checks are not accepted.

Children’s Dance Theater will begin collection procedures on any overdue account.

If you need to withdraw for ANY reason, we require a written 30 days notice. Withdrawal forms are at the office and or can be emailed on request. Over the phone withdrawals will not be accepted. Tuition will be processed until we are notified. CDT will not provide refunds due to late withdrawal notice. We require the written notification so that we can better understand how to improve our services.

Accounts with outstanding balances will not be allowed to register.

Students admitted after classes have begun will pay a pro-rated amount.

Students enrolling after September will need to make payment arrangements to catch up on the costume allocation.

Free trial classes are for select classes.

Select classes are available for drop-in fees. Meaning a client can pay for just one class at a recurring rate. These are typically technique only classes. Please inquire to learn more.
Registration Fees:
To register for any program, a non-refundable registration fee of $30 per student or $45 per family will be required at the time of registration. This is per program and covers the full season.
Special Events do not require a registration fee.
The Sampler Series:
For the six-week program, participants will pay $135 for a 45-minute class, $160 for a 60 minute class, and $185 for a 90 minute class.
*For participants who take a Thursday class, they will only get 5 weeks of dance classes due to the holiday on 10/31. Thursday class participants will pay $115 for a 45 minute class, $135 for a 60 minute class, and $155 for a 90 minute class.
Special Events:
Throughout the year we have various date specific events such as workshops, lectures, Kid’s night out and Adult after hours events. Information and prices for these events are listed on the special event page. These events require an additional sign up to your child's regular classes and many are open to the general public.
The Children's & School Division:
Managing a family's budget is tough work, so we have revamped our tuition model so that you can expect the same monthly tuition all year. You will no longer see recital costume or tight fees assessed to your account in February and March. Just the same amount, so it's easier on your pocket book.
Ten-month costume-inclusive tuition package includes:

Participation in our in-studio dress rehearsal with dance friends for performing & non performing dancers

Complimentary costume alternation day
If you are enrolling later in the year to the Children's or School Division, you will need to make up the previous month’s costumes allocation. This can be done in 1 lump sum at the time of registration. ($13 per month/per dancer) or we can divide the total amount out over the remaining months of the school year. Thank you in advance for your understanding. If needed other payment plans can be arranged on an individual basis.
In order to receive your costume, you must commit to the full ten-month season. Any dancer needing to withdraw for any reason before the season ends may elect to forfeit the costume. If the withdrawal happens after costumes have been ordered (with the Manufacturer) the remaining balance of the costume will be due upon withdrawal in one lump sum. Every effort will be made to cancel the order; however, this isn’t always possible. The previous payments will be forfeited, however the remaining balance will not be due. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

ACH Payments 1.00% + $0.20
ACH payments are where you link your bank account. This option can be set up through our office manager.
Single class rates for 2026-2027:
45 minutes a week $83 per month (1 costume included)+merchant fees
60 minutes a week $98 per month (1 costume included)+merchant fees
90 minutes a week $138 per month (1 costume included)+merchant fees
Discounted multi class/dancer rates for 2026-2027:
60 minutes a week $99 per month (1 costume included)+merchant fees
90 minutes a week $151 per month ( 2 costumes included)+merchant fees
2 hours a week $181 per month (2 costumes included)+merchant fees
3 hours a week $234 per month (3 costumes included) +merchant fees
4 hours a week $274 per month (4 costumes included) +merchant fees

The Conservatory Program for 2026-2027:
Preliminary level: $181 per month (2 costumes included)
Level 1: $234 per month (2 costumes included)
Level 2: $274 per month (3 costume included)
Level 3: $334 per month (3 costumes included)
Level 4: $394 per month (3 costumes included)
Level 5: $454 per month (3 costumes included)
Level 6: $514 per month (3 costumes included)

Discover Arts Preschool:
Our Preschool Program recognizes that each family's preschool needs are unique. Unlike other programs, families can choose the days they attend school (depending on space) . Families can choose to attend one day a week or all 4 options. Families can chose as many days that fits their families schedule and budget. Preschool hours are 9am to noon.
Class Day Options:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Cost: $105 per month per day.
EX: Tuesday only, Monthly tuition is $105. Mon & Tues, Monthly tuition is $210
The Theater Program:
Tuition for the Theater Programs are a one time payment per session. There are 3 sessions within the School year season. Tuition is as follows:
Present a Scene: $150 per session
Playmakers: $225 per session
Productions $430 per session
Costumes are provided for by the participant per the directors directions and all audience members must purchase a ticket to view the performance at the end of the session. Tickets are $20 and it is festival seating.
The Creative Arts Program:
The creative art program is an ongoing weekly class. The monthly fee covers all the supplies needed for each weekly class. The standard registration fee applies to new clients. The art program requires the same 30 days withdrawal notice if you need to discontinue lessons for any reason.
Little explorer: $85 per month+merchant fees
Studio Artist Class: $115 per month+merchant fees

*3-day camps are ONLY available at the Maple Valley location. Summer camps in Auburn or Federal Way are 5-day camps. If you are interested in dropping into camp for one day at any location, please check out our Drop-In pricing.
**Optional 4th Days are ONLY available for campers in the Maple Valley location. Maple Valley Summer Camps are 3 days long with the option of adding a 4th day. Auburn and Federal Way camps are 5 day camps.

Dance classes: $80 per month, per class+merchant fees
Art Sessions $210 per session+merchant fees
Discounts:
Annual Payments:
There is a 10% discount for anyone wishing to make an annual payment for their tuition to any of our 10 month programs: Discovery Arts Preschool , the Children's, School or Conservatory Divisions. Annual payment arrangements & payments must be made by the end of September to receive the discount. Annual payments are non-refundable. If you choose to withdraw, all tuition prepaid is forfeited.
Costumes may also be paid for annually if desired however they are not eligible for a discount.
Multiple Children/Classes:
Our tuition remains a sliding scale, so the more classes or children you enroll there is a built-in discount per class. For example, a single dancer enrolling in an hour long class pays $98 for the tuition & costume. If you enroll in another hour long, bringing your weekly hours to 2 hours you will pay $181 per month versus $196. The more hours or children you enroll, the more the discount increases. The discount is applied to the tuition only, see below for costume discounts. Keep in mind that those prices INCLUDE your June costumes.
Your dancer/family can take as many styles of dance as they want. Please inquire for more specific pricing information.
Withdrawals:
We require 30 days’ notice to discontinue any classes. Withdrawals must be done by completing our digital withdrawal form or in person by signing a physical copy of the form. Your 30 days’ notice begins once we receive the completed withdrawal form. All automatic payments will stop after the 30-day notice period. Non-Attendance does NOT constitute withdrawal notice or adequate reason for not paying tuition.
● If you withdraw after April 1st, all remaining costume fees must be paid with final payment and your costume will be available for pick-up.
● Annual payments are non-refundable. If you choose to withdraw all tuition prepaid is forfeited.
● Adult Art classes, Spotlight Theater, day camps, workshops & intensives are paid in full 7 days before the session begins. Once payment is processed, all tuition is non-refundable, non-transferable and credits are not issued. While you are not required to attend, refunds or credits will not be given for any reason
